Research reports that most anesthesia deaths occur within three hours of termination of surgery and that post surgical monitoring of vital signs can reduce this rate. The battery operated monitor can be attached to the recovery cage or strapped to the animal. Bluetooth wireless technology allows the display of up to seven monitors on one computer to a distance of 100 meters making the PC-VetChek a cost effective central station monitor. The new system, known as the Banfield Pet-Protect™, will display and store patient monitoring information on computers.
